Patrice Elaine Degnan

Rochester, MN Patrice Elaine (Pat) Degnan, 79, of Lewiston died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Rochester, MN after a brief illness. Pat was the fourth child of Michael Bernard Degnan and Ellen Ronan Degnan of Utica Township. She was born on October 31, 1928 in Utica Township and attended Lewiston primary and secondary schools, graduating in 1946. After graduation she lived for several years in St. Paul, MN working at the Montgomery Ward Company. She attended the College of Saint Teresa in Winona from 1952-1955, graduating with a degree in English Literature. After graduation she lived and worked in Washington, D.C. in a variety of editorial positions, culminating as Managing Editor of the American Personnel and Guidance Journal. She resigned in 1968, and returned to Lewiston to take care of her aging mother. She has resided there for the last 40 years. She is survived by one brother: Charles of Lewiston; three sisters: Rosemary (Sister Ronan) of Assisi Heights, Rochester, and Nora Jeanne and Katherine Degnan of Washington, D.C.; one nephew, John Rowan of Yorba Linda, CA, and five nieces, Mary Rowan (Rich) Harrity of Hudson, MA, Charity Rowan (Brian) Floen of Rochester, Margaret Rowan (Mark) Daly of Minnetonka, MN, Nancy Degnan of Santa Cruz, CA, and Ellen Degnan (James) Reeves of Saratoga, CA, and seven great nephews, and four great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Ellen Degnan, one sister: Bernardine Degnan Rowan, one brother, Ronan E. Degnan, and one nephew, Michael Degnan. The Funeral Mass for Pat will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Reverend Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11AM at the church on Tuesday. Remembrances may be sent to St. Rose of Lima Cemetery Association.
