Palma U. Pehler, 95, of Lewiston died Wednesday morning February 14, 2007 at the Caledonia Care and Rehab Center. She was born June 20, 1911 in Arcadia to Nicholas and Ursula (Florian) Christ. Palma married Andrew Pehler on June 20, 1940 in Arcadia. She was a rural schoolteacher for many years and later was in the retail clothing business with her husband, owning and operating Skogmos Clothing in Preston. Palma and her family later moved to Lewiston where she lived until 2006. Palma had a great love and talent for gardening and took pride in her beautiful abundance of vegetation. Countless hours were spent planting and weeding, a hobby that she upheld well in to her nineties. She is survived by a son Andrew Pehler of Lewiston, a daughter Pamela (Jeb) Griffith of Caledonia, three grandchildren, Peter (Molly) Griffith of LaCrosse; Jenny Griffith of St. Paul; Katie Griffith of Minneapolis, and one great granddaughter, Greta Griffith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew on January 21, 1992 and by three sisters, Elsie Wieland, Wilma Studt and Ruby Clark.Funeral Services will be 11AM Saturday at Hoff Funeral Home's Lewiston Chapel with the Rev. Mark Bengston of the Caledonia United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Lewiston.
