Ovedia O. Ellefson, 87, of Rushford died Thursday, July 07, 2005, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, Minn. She was born on May 6, 1918, in rural Peterson, Minn. to Bernard "Benny" and Mary (Thorud) Glenna. Ovedia was raised in the Peterson area. In in1935, she married Maynard Ellefson. After her marriage she lived in Rushford where she lived until entering the nursing home two years ago. Ovedia was a long time employee of the Winona Knitting Mills. She was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church and its ladies aide, and the Rushford American Legion Auxiliary. Ovedia's interests included quilting, crocheting, playing cards, traveling, camping and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons: Murland (Peggy Morgan) Ellefson of Rushford and Dennis (Patricia) Ellefson of Winona, Minn.; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy (Harry) Jacobson, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Norma Haslerud of Roseau, Minn. and Murial (Walter) Thompson of Austin, Minn. Ovedia was preceded in death by her husband Maynard, two sons: Ordel and an infant son; three brothers: Richard, Arnold and Bertrum; and one sister, Lila. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2005, at the Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
