Otis M. Reynolds, 78, of Rochester died Friday morning September 19th at his home, following a lengthy illness. Otis was born April 22, 1925 in St. Charles to John and Welthy (Sherman) Reynolds. He served in the Army during WWII, stationed in Hawaii and Japan, working in the Motor Depot. Otis and Helen Franz were married July 27, 1948 in Iowa. They made their home in St. Charles. Otis was a mechanic; he worked for Waxweiler Garage, Rohrer Motors and Home Produce all in St. Charles. In 1987 the couple moved to Rochester and he worked for Dallas Tire and Alignment, Mr. Muffler and for DS Manufacturing in Pine Island. He was a member of St. Charles American Legion Post #190. Survivors include his wife Helen, five children, Kathleen Stehr and LeLonnie Reynolds both of Rochester; John Reynolds of Chatsworth, CA; Jack Reynolds of Rochester; Len Reynolds of St. Charles and Michelle Reynolds of Red Wing, 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister Ruth Lundgren of San Francisco, CA. A son Kenneth, a sister and two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Tuesday at St. Charles United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday at Hoff Funeral Home's St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
