Orphie B. Kukowski

Stockton, Orphie B. Kukowski, 81, of Stockton died Monday, March 29, 2010 at The Lewiston Villa in Lewiston. Orphie was born June 9, 1928 in Arcadia, WI to Gustav and Helena (Radar) Kube. She and August Kukowski, Jr. were married on May 14, 1947 in Arcadia. They farmed with August's father at Dodge, WI until 1953. Then moving to Lewiston where they farmed until retiring in 1991 and moved to Stockton. Orphie worked part time for Forward Machine and Herff Jones of Lewiston. She also did buttons for Express A-Button. She loved playing cards, working on her lawn and flowers and was a wonderful cook and baker. She was famous to her family for baking bread and homemade buns. Orphie was very proud of her family. She belonged to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Lewiston, Lewiston Cancer Support Group and Lewiston Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her seven children; Dennis (Deb) of Lewiston, Donald (Vicky) of Chaska, Dale (Linda) of New Auburn, WI, Randy (Cheryl) of Lewiston, Rick (Julie Mackey) of Bellingham, WA, Heide (Don) Ressie of Lewiston and Timothy (Kay) of Apple Valley, 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother Ralph (Pat) Kube of Winona, two sisters, Velda Mueller of Buffalo City, WI and Elfa Wiemer of Arcadia, WI, many nieces and nephews, special in-laws Rita Wieczorek and Earl and Bea Harkness. Also several very special people in her life. She was preceded in death by her husband August in November of 2008, her parents Gustav & Helena Kube, a grandson Justin Kukowski, a brother and four sisters. Funeral Services will be 11AM Saturday at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with The Reverends Michael A. Lindemann and M. John Dermé officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at St. Johns Lutheran Church from 5-8PM Friday and one hour before services Saturday. Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service of Lewiston is assisting the family with arrangements.
