Orel G. Jacobson

HOUSTON, MINN. - Orel G. Jacobson, 84, of Houston died on Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis. Orel was born on December 13, 1923, in Lenora Township of Fillmore County, Minn. to Selmer and Avilde (Dahl) Jacobson. He was raised in rural Lanesboro, Minn., attended Clear Grit Country School and graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1941. On June 22, 1946, Orel married Lois Patterson. The couple moved to Houston in 1954. Orel worked for Trane Company in LaCrosse, Wis. for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. Through the years Orel enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, and most recently gardening. He is survived by his wife Lois; three children: Cheryl (Dean) Pederson of Rochester, Minn., Linda Christopherson of Prior Lake, Minn., and Robert (Sherri Knox) Jacobson of Houston; four grandchildren: Troy and Jason Christopherson, Christian Whiting, and Pam Jacobson; three great-grandchildren: Max, Sam, and Luke; Three Sisters: Donna Gullickson of Whalan, Minn., Elaine Kraling of Harmony, Minn., and Muriel West of Rochester, Minn.; and by many nieces and nephews. Orel was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers-in-law.
