RUSHFORDOrdell "Jake" Leland Jacobson, 69, of Rushford died August 12, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Ordell was born April 14, 1946 to James and Alvera (Bartelson) Jacobson in Rushford, Mn. He was baptized and confirmed at Rushford Lutheran Church and attended school in Rushford, graduating in 1964. In 1965 he married Sharon Schueler. They had one son and were later divorced. On October 19, 1974 he married Leann "Nook" Reps of Fremont, Mn and purchased the family farm in Pine Creek valley. They raised two children, Eric and Amy.Ordell was a farmer all of his life - milking cows, farrowing sows, and tending a beef cow/calf herd. His first job off the farm was pumping gas at Overland's Schell station. Over the years he worked for Roger Johnson Milk Transport, Hulshizer Grain Co., Briggs Transportation, and for 14 years was a heavy equipment operator for Mathy Construction, retiring in 2013. In 1992, Ordell and Leann started a construction and trucking business of their own, Jacobson Dozing & Shale. In his spare time he collected and restored Oliver tractors.Ordell is survived by his wife Leann, son Zane (Wendy) Jacobson of Rushford, son Eric (Tiffany) Jacobson of Rushford, daughter Amy (Eric) Dessner of Dover, Mn, nine grandchildren (Cheyenne, Shane, Dylan, Sebastian, Morgan, Natalie, Jacob, Brady and Eva) and sister, Elaine (Chuck) Eidenschink of Peterson . He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, and brother-in-law. Services for Ordell will take place 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Reverend Roger Michaelson officiating. Visitation will take place 4-8 p.m., Friday, August 14th, 2015 at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford and one hour prior to the service at the church.
