Ordean Cyrus "Cy" Hatleli, 90, of Rushford died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Cy was born on May 28, 1914, to the late Christ and Cora (Carlson) Hatleli in Peterson, Minn. He attended school in Peterson, Lanesboro and Albert Lea, Minn. He also attended country schools at Maland School, South Rushford, Gale College Academy and graduated from Rushford High School. Cy married Laura Kramer on March 25, 1938. In later years he attended Moler Barber School in Minneapolis, Minn. Cy was owner of Clover Farm Store in Rushford, Minn. He was a salesman for Curtiss Candy Co., Brown and Bigelow and Ed Phillips and Son. Later he worked for the Minnesota Highway Dept. out of Rushford and for the last 15 years before retiring he was Office Manager of Equipment Maintenance Department for Briggs Transportation. He was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church, a 25 year past charter member of the Rushford Lion's Club, American Legion and the Disabled American Veteran's. Cy's hobbies were traveling, reading, arts and crafts. He had traveled to western and Midwestern states, Mexico, Canada, Alaska and Norway. After retiring he and Laura spent 21 winters in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. He is survived by his wife Laura; one daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Hatleli of Rushford; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordy Hatleli of Rushford; and one sister, Thora Hoiseth of Rushford. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Joel, Merle and Lewy. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
