Olive Sveen

Olive Harkness Sveen, age 101, passed away at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home on Friday, November 9, 2007. She was born August 24, 1906, to Adelbert and Fannie (Sherburne) Harkness on a farm near Riceford, MN. She attended school in Mabel. She was married to Carl Johnson and had four children; Donavan (Barbara) of Michigan/Texas, Sidney (Nancy), Delbert (Frances) of Kasson, MN and Lila (Tom) Peterson of Los Angeles, CA.She later married Clarence Sveen and moved to a farm near Whalan, MN. She was active in the Whalan Lutheran Church. Olive loved gardening, quilting, music and dancing. She had 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Olive was preceded in death by a son, Sidney, and a daughter-in-law, Rosella and her husband Clarence Sveen, three brothers and one sister.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at 11:00am at Whalan Lutheran Church in Whalan, MN with the Reverend Wade Davick officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Lunch will be served immediately following the interment in the church hall. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
