Norman Russell Geise

Lewiston,Norman Russell Geise, 87, of rural Lewiston died Friday morning, August 10th at his home.He was born September 14th 1919, near Byron to William and Emma Geise. He was baptized and married in the Congregational church in Mantorville.Norman was married to Arlet (Flikke) on Oct. 30th 1944, they farmed together with various family members and on their own as well. He loved to be on the farm and loved to watch his calves and cows. He always took such good care for his animals they were more his pets than his livelihood.Norman always worked off the farm as well as on the farm, being a driver for American Linen and elsewhere. He sold insurance for many years and was office manager for Production Credit Association for 181/2 yrs in Lewiston. He loved to talk farming with all his friends and former clients. Norman helped to save many farmers from loosing everything.Together Norman and Arlet had 2 children, Kay (Merton) Scripture of Bemidji, MN and Kraig (Anne) Geise of Winona, 2 Grandchildren, Jeffery (Angie) Scripture and Jenny Meyer (Jason) both of Bemidji, and 5 great-grandchildren. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers and a sister. He deeply loved his children and grandchildrenFuneral Services will be 11AM Tuesday at St. Paul's Church in Lewiston with Rev. Gerald Melby and Peter Huggenvik officiating. . Friends may call on Monday August 13th from 5-8 pm at the Hoff Funeral Home in Lewiston. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
