Neil D Ellingson

FOUNTAIN CITY, WINeil D. Ellingson, 80, of Fountain City, WI, died Monday, September 29, 2014 at his home.Neil was born September 24, 1934 to John and Charlotte (Goss) Ellingson in Mondovi, WI. He married Darlene Berndt, September 29, 1956 and together raised their two children, Steven and Ronald. Neil was a hard worker. He helped run the family farm for many years in Mondovi and spent over 31 years working as an electro plater for Peerless Chain in Winona. One of Neil's favorite activities was spending time with family on the farm. Neil was a member of Cornerstone Community Church where he served as Custodian.Neil is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons, Steven Ellingson of Geneva, IL and Ronald (Srey) Ellingson of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Jessica Ellingson Sobotta, Lindsey Ellingson, Nade Ellingson, and Daryna Ellingson; great-granddaughter , Jakoah Sobotta; and siblings, Betty Binstock of Napa, CA, Eileen Hardy of Janesville, WI, Edwin (Gloria) Ellingson of Clive, IA, Gloria Ellingson of Batavia, IL, and John (Sandy) Ellingson of Racine, WI., and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Avis Nixon, twin sister, Norma Austin, and Maylon Ellingson. Funeral Services for Neil will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview with the Rev. Robert Ray officiating. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
