Nancy T Gjerdrum

January 20, 1936 — June 3, 2016

Nancy Thomas (Brodmerkel) Gjerdrum
Died Friday, June 3, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at St. Anne's Extended Health Care in Winona. Nancy was born January 20, 1936 in Jacksonville, FL to George and Dorothy Brodmerkel. Nancy graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1954 and then married G. Dale Gjerdrum on May 28, 1955 in Jacksonville, FL. After they were married, the couple settled in Dale's hometown of Winona, MN. They were the owners of Shakey's Pizza, and then she worked at Allen's Hallmark and JC Penny's until retirement. She has been a member of Central Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Nancy loved to sew; making baby quilts and clothes, loved to travel to Florida to visit her parents and relatives. She was an avid bowler, loved boating on the Mississippi River, and loved plain cheese pizza; but most of all loved showing off her two beautiful granddaughters; Katie and Sarah during their frequent visits to Winona. Nancy redefined the definition of "spoil" when it came to spending quality time with her granddaughters. She was a giving person with a generous heart. Married for almost 60 years to G Dale, the two were inseparable. Their love for each other was strong and true.
She is survived by her son Thomas D (Sue) Gjerdrum (Sioux Falls, SD); daughter, Terrianna Gjerdrum (Winona); granddaughters, Katherine and Sarah Gjerdrum (Sioux Falls, SD).
Preceded in death by husband, G Dale Gjerdrum (9/30/14); sister, Anne Nork; parents, George T Brodmerkel and Dorothy Brodmerkel
A funeral for Nancy will be held 11AM, Wednesday June 8 at Central Lutheran Church, Winona, with visitation starting at 10AM and lunch following the burial. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona. Please view the tribute video and leave a memory of Nancy at Hofffuneral.com.
