Myrton Stoos, 88 of Rollingstone, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Winona Health.Myrt was born June 26, 1925 in Rollingstone to Arthur and Elsie (Nuthak) Stoos. He married Dorothy Leisen on September 7, 1948 at Holy Trinity Parish. His working career was spent as an electrician; first at Lackore Electric - Winona and La Crosse, next at Libby's in Rochester and then at Stoos Electric in St. Charles and eventually consolidating it to Rollingstone where it is currently. He retired in 1990 after 50 years. He was a longtime member of the IBEW. Myrt's Luxembourg Heritage was very important to him; he and Dorothy were charter members of the Rollingstone Luxembourg Society and Museum. Myrt was a charter member and current president of the Zion Evangelical Cemetery; member of the Luxembourg American Culture Society and the Rollingstone Business Association. He also served on the Rollingstone Fire Department. Myrt enjoyed following all Minnesota Sports, especially the Twins. He also loved to follow the UW-Green Bay Women's Basketball Team, of which his granddaughter is an assistant coach. Myrt took pride in maintaining a level of independence and self-reliance as evidenced by his efforts in caring for his home and lawn until he was 87 years old. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; four children, Linda (Dick) Kreidermacher, David (Sandi) Stoos, Diane (Tom) Bronk and Gary (Mary) Stoos; eleven grandchildren, Scott Kreidermacher, Jennifer (John) Marin, Dylan Stoos, Shonda (Andy) Dickinson, Hailee Stoos, Stacy (Tim) Meyer, Sarah Bronk, Tammy (Kurt) Hoeger, Rachel (Peter) Dodds, Kelsey (Mario) Stoos - Scampoli, Natalie (fiancé Jake Savat) Stoos; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brother, Richard Stoos and his special friend, Joan Kolstad; sister-in-law, Mary Stoos and many nieces and nephews.Myrt was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Stoos and sister, Harriet Stoos.Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Reverend William Kulas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday at the church and one hour prior to the mass. There will be a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., Friday.
