Morris Jerome Holger, 77, of Rushford died Saturday, February 19, 2005 at his home. Morris was born on October 21, 1927 in rural Rushford to Olaus and Emma (Vitse) Holger. He attended the Baker Country School. He farmed with his father and continued farming until 1988. On April 26, 1963 he married Clarissa (Thompson) Johnson. Since retiring in 1988 Morris enjoyed bowling, playing pool, playing his violin and was a volunteer driver for SEMCAC. Morris is survived by his wife, Clarissa, 3 step-sons, Rodney Johnson, Harmony, Larry (Janice) Johnson, Rushford and Joey Johnson, Peterson, step-grandchildren, Shannon and Erick Johnson, Brent Johnson, Cindy Cunningham and Debbie Shold, many step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He will fondly be remembered for his love of a good joke and his humorous use of nicknames. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Kermit and John Holger and 1 sister, Agnes (George) Overland. Blessed be his memory. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
