Minnie A. Steffensrud, 100, of Winona, formerly of Lewiston, MN, died Friday morning, June 1, 2007 at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona, MN. Minnie Anna Steffensrud was born on September 25, 1906 to Charles and Martha (Witt) Neldner in Lewiston, MN. She attended three schools while she was growing up: Enterprise, St. John's Parochial, and Fremont. She was confirmed on May 20, 1920 at St. John's in Lewiston by Pastor H. W. Herwig. In 1925 she was united in holy matrimony to Frank Hoffman. They farmed in Fremont for several years and then moved to Lewiston in the late 1930's. Frank passed away in 1956. Minnie then moved to Winona where she worked at the hospital for 12 years. In 1970 she was married to Orel Steffensrud. He passed away in 1979. In 1983 Minnie moved back to Lewiston. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide, L.W.M.S., and O.W.L.S. Minnie enjoyed crocheting, going for walks, going out to eat, and having good visits with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Minnie is survived by four nieces, two nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, twelve great-great nieces and nephews, and many good friends. She is preceded in death by her parents , two sisters, Bertha and Clara, and brother Carl. The Funeral Service for Minnie will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at 2:00pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston, MN with the Reverend David A. Fischer and Reverend Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
