Minerva A. Heiden, 88, of Rushford died on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She was born on August 15, 1918, in Rushford to Adolph and Marie (Overland) Humble. Minerva was raised in rural Rushford. She attended South Rushford Country School and Rushford High School. On May 22, 1937, she married Wilton Heiden in Rushford. They were married for 51 years. Minerva and Wilton farmed in the Hart area for many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Hart and the ladies aide there, Rushford Federated Club, and Rushford Homecoming Committees. Minerva's interests included: rosemaling, embroidery, gardening, collecting crystal baskets, baking goodies, and entertaining family and friends. She and Wilton enjoyed many trips together around the U.S. and Europe. Minerva was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by one son: Allen (Debra) Heiden of Rushford; two daughters: Barbara (Donald) Hoegh of Houston, Minn., and Betty (Brian) McMahon of Madison Lake, Minn.; six grandchildren: Heidi Koeller, Scott (Jamie) Hoegh, Courtney Talbot, Paige Talbot, Steve (Jessica) Heiden, and Emily (Sean) Michaelis; five great-grandchildren: Brent, Danny, and Ashley Koeller, and Abbey and Parker Hoegh; one brother, Lloyd Humble of Rushford; and one sister, Eleanor Dammen of Rushford. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
