Lewiston, Milton John Thill, 85, of Lewiston died Saturday morning July 23, 2005 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. Milton was born May 31, 1920 in Conrad, MT to Louis and Minnie (Ehlers) Thill. He and Bonita "Bonnie" Boynton were married May 9, 1946 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston. The couple farmed at Garvin Heights until moving to Lewiston in 1966. While farming he received the FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer Award and the Soil Savers Award from the Minneapolis Tribune in 1962. Following their move to Lewiston Milton drove truck for Patterson Quarries, retiring in 1985. After retirement he worked in Lewiston for Pete's Meats, was janitor for St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and drove school bus for Lewiston Public Schools. Milton was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus and had served on the school board for the Garvin Heights country school. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, reading, NASCAR and the Twins. Survivors include his wife Bonnie, five children, Mike (Janice) Thill of Winona; Jennifer (Larry) Rupprecht; Pamela (Steven) Reps; Keri (John) Prigge and Wendy (Peter) McMartin all of Lewiston, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a brother LaVerne (Linda) Thill of Winona and a sister Delores Thill of Winona. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death. A Funeral Mass will be 11AM Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Rev. James Hennessy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 4-8 PM Monday at one hour before services Tuesday.
