Lewiston, MN Milton A. Simon, 90, of Lewiston, MN, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Lewiston Villa in Lewiston. Milton was born on September 22, 1917 in Utica Township to Art and Minnie (Rahn) Simon. On June 14, 1945 Milton married Verna Prudoehl in Bethany. They farmed on their family farm in Utica Township until 1972, and then moved to Lewiston. Milton was a member of Jehovah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Altura. After retiring from farming, he worked for the Post Office, Camera Art, St. Charles Nursing Home, and the Altura Turkey Plant. Milton loved to take bus tours, play cards, work around the house in the garden, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by two children, Allan (Betty) Simon of Goodland, KS and Norma Jean Simon of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Scott and Matt Simon both of Owatonna, MN, Jena and Joy Schulte both of Lewiston, and Blake Schulte of Grand Junction, CO; three great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Morgan, and Kayleigh Simon; and his faithful dog, Sam. Milton is preceded in death by his wife Verna and daughter Linda Matzke. The Funeral Service for Milton will be held at 11:00AM Monday, March 3, 2008 at Jehovah Ev. Lutheran Church in Altura, MN with the Reverend David A. Fischer and Reverend Michael A. Lindemann co-officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Bethany Moravian Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4PM on Sunday, March 2 at Jehovah Ev. Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
