Millicent Irene "Millie" Harrison joined the stars above on April 2, 2011. She died in a place that she loved and where people loved her. We are all better people because we knew and loved Millie.Millie was born on October 24, 1991 in Findlay, Ohio to Terri and Cecil Harrison who were the luckiest parents in the world. They moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1994.Millie was a Freshman Theater Major at Saint Mary's University in Winona,MN. She graduated from Wasson High School in 2010. She attended Jenkins Middle School and King Elementary.Millie was very actively involved in theater throughout Colorado Springs. She had been a part of the MAT Family for 6 years and the TheatreWorks family for 5 years, she had planned to work at both again this summer. She performed on stage, which she loved but truly shined behind the scenes. Millie was a life force - she tried everything. In high school Millie was involved in National Honor Society, Forensics, Golf Team, LINK, Theater, and generally brightening everyone's day. She earned 15 Varsity letters and was a First Team Academic. In college she was a Student Ambassador, Second Page performer, Program Director and DJ for the KMSR radio station, SOUL trip participant, actor, theater crew, she had been chosen to be an RA next year and was an amazing stage manager. She had made a tremendous impact in a very short amount of time.Millie is survived by her very proud parents, Terri and Cecil, her maternal grandparents, Bill & Connie Jones - Spearfish, SD, her paternal grandmother, Betty Harrison - Fairview, OK, her uncle Jeff (Kathy) Jones - Milbank, SD, aunt Susie (Brad) LaCroix - Newcastle, WY, cousins Adam and Morgan Jones and Shenae and Sierra LaCroix, as well as numerous other relatives and so many special friends.A Memorial Service will be held in the Page Theater on Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m., dress should be casual. The family would love to hear any Millieisms that you may have to share. In lieu of flowers, please hug your children very tightly. Donations can be made in Millie's name to SMU's Scholarship Fund.
