Mildred Feine

Mildred E. Feine, 96, of St. Charles, MN passed away peacefully at Lewiston Senior Living on Tuesday November 29, 2022 surrounded by family following a lengthy, complicated and courageous battle with dementia.

She received outstanding care and compassion from everyone at Lewiston Senior Living, Winona Health Hospital and Winona Health Hospice.

Mildred was born at home in Wilson, MN on December 31, 1925, to Herman and Emma (Block) Luedtke. She was raised on the family farm in Wilson and attended a one room school. On June 24, 1944 she married Victor Feine at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wilson, MN. They moved to Spring Valley, MN area in 1950 where she was a busy homemaker and they raised seven children. Later they moved to Ostrander, MN where she began her 23 year career at LeRoy-Ostrander Schools as a cook. After they retired, in 2003, they moved to St. Charles, MN.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles where she was active in Bible Study, quilting, Women of Faith and volunteered. She enjoyed being a member of the Senior Center in St. Charles for many years. Mildred loved to cook, especially bake goodies, watch Judge Judy and travel.

Mildred is survived by her seven children; Jerry (Sue) Feine of Rochester, MN., Ronald (Marilynn) Feine of Lake Havasu City, AZ., Nancy Allhiser of Rochester, MN., Peggy (Leonard) Frederick of Waseca, MN., Cheryl (David) Hinckley of St. Charles, MN., Sandra (Larry) Sween of Pardeeville, WI., Steven (Rochelle) Feine of Amelia, OH., 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and one sister Helen Braatz of Winona, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; five brothers; Elmer, Walter, Melvin, Alfred, Herman, Jr., and three sisters; Erma, Arlene, Marie, and one son-in-law LaVern “Lefty” Allhiser.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Reverend Shawn Brooks officiating.  Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service.  She will be laid to rest at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Wilson.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Winona Area Hospice or Faith Lutheran Church.
