Mike McCann

April 14, 1955 — April 2, 2016

Michael Steven McCann, 60, of Viola, passed away peacefully, April 2nd at his home,
surrounded by his family and friends. Michael died after a hard fought battle with renal cancer.
He was born in La Crosse, WI on April 14, 1955 to Jerome and Marjorie (Riek) McCann, where
he lived with his parents and siblings until moving to the Eyota area. Mike graduated from
Dover-Eyota High School in 1973, where he was known for his exceptional athletic skills.

He married Donna Wegman on May 8, 1982. They were blessed with 33 years of marriage,
three children and eight grandchildren. They moved to the Viola area where they raised their children and still reside. Michael spent most of his working career as a cement finisher and carpenter. His true passion was hunting and fishing. Any chance he had he was on the river or in the fields with his family and friends. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Michael is survived by his wife Donna, children; Daron (Cari) McCann, Daniel (Jainnee
Sacksith) McCann, Kristin (Josh Hansen) McCann, his siblings; Paul (Kim) McCann, Bill (Tami Matzke)
McCann, Linda (Jeff) Pishke, James (JoAnne) McCann, his grandchildren; Ethan, Cooper, Alexis, Alaina, Briella, Ariana, Emeric, step-grandaughter Jordan, family friends, Brandon Rabehl and Haylie Ward. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Marjorie (Riek) McCann.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Mike's closest friend, Judd Watson and
also Pons Sacksith for all of their support.

A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota with the
Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Friends may call from 8:30 - 10:30 at the church. A parish rosary
will be at 10:30. Family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers to donate at a later time. Please share
