Rushford, MNFuneral services will be held at 2 pm for Merlin C. Jameson of Rushford on Monday, July 13th, at Rushford Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will follow at the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 12th from 3-7 pm at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford.Merlin C. Jameson died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Merlin Curtis Jameson was born on March 13th, 1928, in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Edward and Myrtle (Skauge) Jameson. He graduated from Houston High School in 1946. During his early years he farmed the Jameson, Hagen and Eiken farms. In 1957, he purchased a farm near Hart where he lived and raised his family until retiring to Rushford in 1993.It is time for us to be strong for the person he adored most, his wife Lila (Heiden) of 56 years whom he married June 6, 1953, at Hart Lutheran Church. Merlin was involved in the community and his four sons' activities. He served on the boards of Ace Telephone for 26 years, the Tri-County Cooperative, Rushford Public Schools, and the Ferndale Country Club. He was a 40 year member of Rushford Lions club.He enjoyed time with his family, and traveled with their many friends. His other interests, besides hard work, were golfing and love of airplanes. He and Lila were 33 year bridge club members. The gathering of friends and family always brought him countless hours of laughter and joy.He is lovingly remembered by his four sons and their families; Scott and Nancy of Eagan, Minnesota, their sons Blair and Aaron, great-grandson Logan; Mark and Jamie of Rushford, Minnesota, their daughters Makena and Abby; Craig and Diane of Menomonie, Wisconsin and their daughter Leah; Lance and Kathy of Eagan, Minnesota and their daughters Hillary and Haley.He is also survived by brother Donald (Mavis) and sister Joyce Spande, brothers- and sisters-in-law Eunice Zicha, Clifford and Pat Heiden, Leland and Cleo McMillen, Claire and Ione Olstad. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, his mother- and father-in-law (Leo and Dorathea Heiden), and brother-in-law, Lester Heiden.Merlin always had a lap for a grandchild, a chair for a card player, a golf tip for a friend and love for his family. We will all miss you!
