Melvin Rennells

Melvin A. Rennells, 91 of Winona, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Lake Winona Manor.

Melvin was born January 12, 1933 in Marion, Michigan to Melvin and Louise (Hall) Rennells.  He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Engineering.  On October 30, 1954, he married Shirley Morgan. Shirley passed away in 1974.

On October 25, 1975, he married Mary Earp. They made their home in Albert Lea, Owatonna and Cedar Rapids IA before moving to Winona in 1983.  He was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Winona.

Melvin was involved with the Boy Scouts , Toastmasters and was a Lay Pastor. He was an avid camper, loved trains, barges and airplanes. 

He is survived by his children, Jeff (Bonnie) Rennells, Martin (Denise) Rennells,  Paul Rennells and Carol (Todd) Bell; grandchildren, Jenny, Jeremy, Christina, Tiphanie, Damian, Meghan and Savannah; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in May of 2023 as well as his wife Shirley, parents and sisters, Joyce and Joanne

Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2024 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Winona.  Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service.  He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
