St. Charles, Mayon Elsie Ham, 82, of St. Charles died Friday, June 24, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Mayon was born May 15, 1929 in Hutchinson, MN to Paul and Emma (Jarcho) Loessin. She and Raymond Ham were married December 31, 1955 in Hutchinson. The couple made their home in St. Charles, where they farmed, before moving into St. Charles and later divorcing. Mayon was a florist and floral designer, having worked for Whiting's Floral in Rochester and later purchasing the St. Charles Greenhouse. Mayon loved working with flowers and creating beautiful designs. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and going to sales, selling her collectibles at an antique shop in Red Wing. Mayon loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mayon was a member of theSt. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Survivors include her three daughters; Judy (Dwight Simpson) Donaldson of Burnsville, Kayone (Dean) Majerus of St. Charles and Holly Ham of Minneapolis, four grandchildren; Reece (Bria)Majerus, Ryan (Angela) Majerus, Merredith (Steven) Donahue and Ian Donaldson, five great-grandchildren; Malina, Macartan, Merreck, Jaxon and Ragen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond and long time close friend Bob Stevens. Funeral Services will be 11Am Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Reverend Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Matthew Lutheran Church on Monday from 5-8PM and Tuesday from 10-11AM.
