Max L. Judd, 89, of Chatfield died January 15, 2014 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.
Max Leo Judd was born November 20, 1924 in Chatfield to John Richard and Genevieve (Connelly) Judd. He attended schools is Chatfield and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army from 1943-1946, earning a Purple Heart Award in World War II.
On October 30, 1947 Max married Marjorie Busher at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He worked as a bricklayer for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Bricklayers Association. He enjoyed spending time with family. He will be remembered for his famous doughnuts. He enjoyed the time spent on his grill perfecting his barbecue chicken.
Max is loved and will be remembered by his wife Marjorie, of Chatfield; seven children: Thomas (Betty) Judd of Faribault; Michael (Kate) Judd of New Orleans, Louisiana; Daniel (Lori) Judd of Prairie Village, KS; Nancy Judd, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Gregory (Joan) Judd of Burnsville; Maureen (Matthew) Bernard of Pine Island; and Jerome Judd of Ft. Worth , Texas. Seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and brother, Donald Judd, of Rochester also survive.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers James and Paul Judd.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday January 18, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chatfield with Father Patrick Arens officiating. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2014 . Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield with Military Honors by Chatfield VFW Post # 6913. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to services also at church.
