Mary Eleanor (Nelson) Mindrum

Mary E. Mindrum, 92, of Lanesboro, passed away on her birthday Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at her home in Lanesboro.

Mary Eleanor Nelson was born September 21, 1930, in Lanesboro to Willie “Bill” and Bertha (Gates) Nelson.  She grew up in Lanesboro and worked for Hanson’s Drug Store while she was in high school.  Mary graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1948. In 1950 she married Caryl F. Mindrum. Mary worked for General Electric and the Post office where she retired from.

Mary enjoyed reading, watching the MN Twins, playing cards and board games.  She was a member of the Lanesboro American Legion Auxiliary, the Sunshine Club, and United Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by her 6 children; Jenifer Hungerholt, Jeffrey (Kathy) Mindrum, Mitchel, Kyle, Chris Mindrum,and Martha (Richard) Gullickson; 3 grandsons, Adam Mindrum, Ben Hungerholt, and Aric (Destinee) Gullickson; sister, Ruth (James) Ostrem.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Caryl; 2 sons, William, and Michael Mindrum; granddaughter, Adria Mindrum; daughter in-law, Judith Mindrum; 3 brother, James, Robert (Marlene), and David (Janice) Nelson; 4 sisters, Jean (Alan) Bremseth, Margaret Nelson, Lois (John) Muzik, Lola (Ken) Williamson.

A private family burial with committal service will be held at Lanesboro Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to Lanesboro Cemetery.
