Mary Lou Thoreson, age 90 of Chatfield, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Spring Valley Living in Spring Valley, MN.
She was born January 19, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Bung) Ressie in Winona, MN.
Mary Lou graduated from Winona High School in Winona, MN and went on to attend Midwest Bible School in St. Louis, MO.
She married Arthur “Richard” Thoreson on July 16th, 1954 and together they shared 70 yrs, 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren and many wonderful memories.
Mary Lou’s life centered around her faith, family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Mary Lou is survived by her five children:
Steven (Terry) Thoreson
Debbie (Hugh) Fendry
David (Karen) Thoreson
Kathy (Kevin) Brettin
Craig (Jean) Thoreson
14 Grandchildren
17 Great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Richard” Thoreson, her parents, Frank and Myrtle Ressie, and her siblings Ronald Ressie, Mardell (Ressie) Buck, and Charlotte (Ressie) Peterson.

Funeral services for Mary Lou will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church in Rochester, MN at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Cemetery of Rochester.
