Mary Lou Swenson, 79 of Houston died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab.Mary was born June 23, 1935 in Houston County to Earl and Ardella Sisson. She graduated from Houston High School. On April 2, 1955 she married Max Swenson in Houston. They moved to Albert Lea for Max's job where they raised their three children. Mary worked for Farmstead Foods in Albert Lea. Mary and Max enjoyed camping almost every weekend in the summers and she also enjoyed sports, especially softball and bowling. Mary was extremely independent and her family meant the world to her. Max died in 2004 and a few years ago, Mary moved back to Houston where she was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.She will be greatly missed by her three children, Craig (Theresa) Swenson of Caledonia, Barbara (Mark Hubbard) of Albert Lea and David (Kay) Swenson of Rochester; four grandchildren, Michael Swenson, Mark Swenson, Alan Christenson and Emily Woslager; three great-grandchildren, Max Swenson, William Swenson and Macy Woslager; three sisters, Bette Haefner, Benora Krueger and Catherine Kulas; and many nieces and nephews.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Max; granddaughter, Michelle Thompson; grandson, Curtis Swenson and her brothers and sisters.Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with the Reverend Lane Zaffke officiating. Burial will follow at Stone Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m., until the time of the service.
