Mary Jo Beyerstedt

Mary Jo (Cashen) Beyerstedt, age 91, of Winona, died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Winona Health.

Mary Jo was born June 20, 1932, in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of William and Zelda (Mergener) Cashen.  She was united in marriage to Bert A. Beyerstedt, on November 14, 1953, in Winona, and to this union four children were born. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. She worked as a secretary at St. Mary’s University for 35 years, retiring in 1997. After retirement, Mary Jo enjoyed doing volunteer work, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, cross stitching, reading and playing bingo.

She is survived by her daughters, Barb Ramer, Marge Oium, and Mary Langton of Winona; daughter-in-law, Linda Beyerstedt; grandchildren: Jennifer Rymarkiewicz, Beckie Langton, Katie (Bryan) Weber, and Zach Beyerstedt; two great-granddaughters: Bailey and Brinley Weber; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert; her parents; son, William Beyerstedt; grandchildren: Tracy Rymarkiewicz, and Jeffrey Oium; sister, Jeanne Wolfe; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Margaret Guenther.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, from 4 - 6pm at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Winona. Private family interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
