Marvin Clifton Foss formerly of Chatfield passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester where he resided the past year. He died peacefully with his family around him. A funeral service was held April 3, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ with his burial at Union cemetery
Marvin was born July 15, 1924 in Fountain to Anton and Alma (Spelhaug) Foss. Marvin was stricken with polio at age 22. His survival and successes were totally his determination. He taught all who knew him that it was not acceptable to give up. He met the many challenges of life and when others may have given up, Marvin never did.
He attended Winona Business School and worked in the accounting field after his graduation. On September 14, 1957 he married Colleen Carothers at their home in Chatfield. Throughout his lifetime Marvin was employed at Rochester Dairy, Hervey Implement and KROC. He was the Office Accountant Manager at KROC from September 1956 until August 1987.
Marvin enjoyed traveling to Europe, Norway and his favorite, their trip to Alaska. Marvin enjoyed many fantastic fishing trips with friends and family. After their retirement he and his wife spent 17 winters in Arizona.
Marvin is survived by his wife Colleen of Rochester. One son Michael (Jessica) Foss of Edgerton, Wisconsin, a daughter Audrey (Bob) Schroeder Of Rochester. He is missed by his six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He is also survived by one brother Vernon (Susan) of Rochester and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was one brother Leland and son Edward.
