Martin Pedersen

St. Charles, Martin J. Pedersen, 88, of St. Charles died Friday September 8, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Martin was born December 31, 1917 in Dover Township, Olmsted County to Christian and Anna (Christensen) Pedersen. He and L. Maxine Miller were married April 7, 1947 in St. Charles. They lived in the St. Charles area their entire married life. Martin had worked at Frisch and Johnson Co. in St. Charles, driving bulk truck and school bus and later worked for Noweta Gardens. He was a retired member of the St. Charles Volunteer Fire Department. Martin was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons playing baseball. Survivors include his wife Maxine, a daughter Judy Klaksvik of Underwood, MN, two sons; Robert and James (Kris) Pedersen both of St. Charles, six grandchildren; Kristen (Brian) Hovland, Dana (Starrla) Klaksvik, Jill (Lance) Roisum, Cory (Andrea) Pedersen, Jesse and Samuel Pedersen, three great-granddaughters; Sydney and Brooke Hovland and Olivia Klaksvik, two brothers; Milo (Viola) Pedersen of Fargo, ND and Chalmer (Arlene) Pedersen of Rushford, two sisters; Della (Harvey) Kottke of Fort Meyers, FL and Darlene (Myron) Grills of St. Louis, MO, and two sisters-in-law; Mary Pedersen of Dover and Anna Mary Pedersen of Mandan, ND. He was preceded in death by brothers Victor and Elry and by an infant brother. Funeral Services will be 11AM Wednesday at St. Charles United Methodist Church with the Reverend Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery in rural St. Charles. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
