The family took camping trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior almost every summer, and then to South Carolina, and the southwest, with a Siamese cat named Pepper in tow. By far, the Rocky Mountains were her favorite destination. While Martha waited for her son John to come home from Vietnam, she and her daughter enjoyed hunting for agates on the North Shore and fossils in gravel pits. She encouraged her daughter in her craft projects, drawing and painting, with quiet patience and good humor and love.A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Lewiston with visitation one hour prior.
