UTICAMarlyn Argene Burt, 84 of Utica, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.Marlyn was born in Utica on January 12, 1930 to Royal and Gladys (Moen) Burt. He was raised in Utica and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1948. Marlyn helped his father on the farm until he was drafted into the Korean War on December 10, 1952. He was united in marriage to Kay Woodward on July 4, 1955 and they raised four sons, Steve, Mark, Daniel, and Chris. He farmed his entire adult life and also drove school bus for the Lewiston/Altura public schools for 37 years. In his spare time, Marlyn enjoyed 4-H, tractor pulls, and hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.He leaves behind his wife, Kay Burt of Utica; sons, Steve (June) of Utica, Mark (Gail) of Utica, Daniel of Bethany, and Chris (Samantha) of Ogden, IA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roland and Norm; 3 sisters, Janette, Annette, and Susan; many nieces and nephews, and his "brother" Alfred, who was a dear family friend. Marlyn was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Marion.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview with a moment of silence and brief prayer at 7:45 p.m. Private family burial with full military honors provided by the Lewiston American Legion Post 90 will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Utica.Please share a memory of Marlyn with his family and view his video tribute at
