WINONA AND FORMERLY FROM LEWISTONMarlis Mae Haedtke, 86, of Winona and formerly from Lewiston, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Lake Winona Manor.Marlis was born September 3, 1928 in Winona to William and Goldie (Stephan) Hagedorn. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1946 and enjoyed having lunch each month with her classmates, the "46-ers." After graduation, Marlis worked as a Winona County 4-H Club Agent for a couple years. She was introduced to Clyde Haedtke at a coffee shop in Lewiston and they were united in marriage on June 24, 1951 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona, the church where she was baptized and confirmed. She and Clyde were members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston and Marlis stayed active with the DORCAS Society, LWMS group, and was instrumental in the banner committee. For many years, they owned and operated Cly-Mar Bowl and Zodiac Lounge in Lewiston. She also worked as an assistant recreation director at Lewiston Villa for a short time. Marlis enjoyed retirement by volunteering. She was a member of the Lioness Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and Lewiston-Altura Booster Club. She was also honored to receive the prestigious Melvin Jones Award with the Lions Club. Marlis loved cooking and entertaining. Every Sunday, she invited her family over for dinner. Her graham cracker cream pie was loved by all. One of the biggest highlights of her recreation was attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Playing cards, bingo, and bowling were also favorites. Survivors include her husband of nearly 64 years, Clyde Haedtke of Winona; daughters, Joye (Rex) Hall of Altura and Sue (Ron) Kieffer of Lewiston; grandchildren, Brent (Suzie) Hall, Tara Burgess, Bryce (Yvette) Hall, Noelle (Eric) Bergan, Bradley Hammann, and Brandon Hammann; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Desi, Rinlee, Bryce, and Emmett; brother, Richard (Sue) Hagedorn; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Hagedorn. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Charles and William Hagedorn.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 20 at church with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Michael A. Lindemann and Reverend Paul Kuckhahn will officiate.
