Marlene Ruth Fenske, 83 of Kellogg, died Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Adith Miller Manor following a battle with Alzheimers.
Marlene was born at home, March 20, 1939 in Rock Dell Township, MN to Lester and Louella (Braaten) Olson. On September 23, 1956, she married Clayton Boutelle. They had five children, Ronnie, Jeffrey, Tamra, Clayton and Clarence. They later divorced. On August 25, 1978, Marlene was united in marriage with Daniel Fenske in Eyota, MN and they have enjoyed the last 44 years together. While her children were growing up, Marlene stayed home to care for them. She then went to work at St. Mary's in Rochester and later at St. Elizabeth's in Wabasha, as well as at Uni-Patch in Wabasha.
In 1992, Marlene and Dan built a house along the Mississippi River in the Sand Prairie area, near Kellogg. This was a dream come true for Marlene as it was an area she dearly loved. Marlene was an avid card player, a great cook, and enjoyed fishing and drinking a cold beer with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; four children, Jeffery (Gerri) Boutelle of Texas, Tammy (Paul) Gauthier of South Dakota, Clayton Boutelle of Wisconsin and Clarence Boutelle of Minnesota; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Jensen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marlene was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie in 1969; parents; two brothers and three sisters.
A Celebration of her life will be held from 2:30 – 6 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Carol & John Allen’s Farm, 25582 590th Street, Mantorville, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Adith Miller Manor.
