ROLLINGSTONE, MN - Marlene Elizabeth "Betsy" Lehnertz, 76, of Rollingstone, MN died on Monday, February 8, 2016, at her home.
Marlene Elizabeth Mueller was born on September 19, 1939, in Crystal Springs, near Elba, MN to Leo and Lucy (Wieser) Mueller. She was raised at Crystal Springs and attended country school. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1957. She then worked as a scrub nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, and later as a telephone operator. On November 22, 1958, she was united in marriage with Thomas N. Lehnertz at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba. Betsy and Tom moved to his family's farm near Rollingstone where they raised their nine children. Betsy enjoyed sewing, baking, bon fires, relaxing on the front porch, visiting with her sisters on the phone, traveling, and following her children and grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Betsy is survived by her husband, Tom; children: Randall (Donna Olson) Lehnertz of Winona, Tom "Speck" (Tammy) Lehnertz of Fremont, IN, Norbert (Hortensia) Lehnertz of Lewisville, TX, Ann (John) Brogan of St. Charles, MN, Raymond Lehnertz of Seattle, WA, Terry (Laurie) Lehnertz of Robbinsdale, MN, Joe (April) Lehnertz of Goodview, MN, Lucy Lehnertz of Rollingstone, MN, and Katharine (Ryan) Lehnertz of Crystal, MN. ; 15 grandchildren: Adam, Benjamin, Chari, Ashley, Ryan, Isabella, Sydney, Paul, Mara, Joshua, Zachary, Sarah, Nicole, Megan and Angela; four step-grandchildren: Mallory, Katie, Christopher and Michael; one great-grandchild, Ira, plus one on the way; three step-great-grandchildren: Braiden, Connor and Andrew; seven siblings: George Mueller of Plainview, Leo "Ted" Mueller of Rochester, Arthur (Helen) Mueller of Rochester, Louis (Gloria) Mueller of Sun City, AZ, James (Marie) Mueller of St. Charles, Edith (Roland) Holm of St. Charles, and Clara (Rodney) Burt of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, A.J. and four siblings: Cletus, Aloysius, Leora and Sr. Bona.
There will be a Funeral Mass for Betsy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, MN with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, at the church.
