Mark Allen Splittstoesser, passed away on November 30, 2023, after a battle with cancer, at the age of 41, in Grove City, Ohio.
Born on February 1, 1982, in Hopkins, Minnesota, Mark was the cherished son of Vern Splittstoesser and the late Kathleen (Bosshardt) Splittstoesser. From an early age, Mark demonstrated a passion for knowledge and a remarkable dedication to his educational pursuits. He obtained several degrees, including a master's degree, from Ohio State University.
As a Respiratory Therapist, Mark found purpose and fulfillment in his career at The Ohio State University Medical Center. His expertise and compassion were evident in his diligent work, touching the lives of countless patients. Mark's dedication extended beyond the confines of a single institution, as he generously offered his expertise in assisting healthcare facilities across the nation. His professionalism and commitment to improving the lives of others will forever be remembered.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mark had a zest for life that was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He thrived in the beauty of nature, finding peace in running, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. His love for nature led him to conquer the majestic Appalachian Mountains on multiple occasions, embracing the challenges they presented with enthusiasm and determination.
In addition to his passion for the outdoors, Mark also found joy in nurturing his green thumb, channeling creativity through woodworking, and creating culinary masterpieces in the kitchen. He approached life with a warm personality, always radiating positivity and inspiring those around him to embrace each day with a renewed sense of purpose.
Mark's sudden departure has left an immense void in the lives of his loved ones, but his memory will forever remain etched in their hearts. He leaves behind his father, Vernon Splittstoesser; sisters, Christine (Leroy) Jones, Emily (Craig) Gibson; niece, Rachel Hubbard and her son Mason; Aunt, Janice "Bosshardt" (Bob) Johnson; and many loving friends and cousins.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Sinclair Cemetery in St. Charles, Minnesota where he will be laid to rest next to his mother.
