Marilyn Havens

Marilyn Janet Havens, age 87, of Stewartville, MN, died Friday, October 11, 2024 at Grand Meadow Healthcare Center. 

Marilyn was born April 6, 1937 in Carroll, IA, youngest of 9 children, born to Wibbo “Jack” and Dena (Brauer) Huisenga. She graduated from Somers High School in Somers, IA in 1955. She attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, IA, from 1955 – 1957. She worked at the Register and Tribune, Supersweet Feeds, and Ostrander-McDonald Company in Des Moines for a total of 10 years.

She was united in marriage to William L. Havens October 26, 1963, in Des Moines. Marilyn volunteered for several years with the Girl Scouts, and at the nursing home, church, and library in Stewartville, MN. 

She is survived by her husband, William; daughter Teresa (Roger) Aldinger; 2 granddaughters: Hannah Aldinger, and Adriana (Joshua) Herricks; and great-grandson, Lincoln Herricks.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Leo, Everette, Kenneth, Donald, Duane, Lloyd and Raymond; sister, Velma Huen Mason.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, from 2:00 – 3:30pm at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN. She will be laid to rest at Witoka Cemetery in Witoka, MN.
