Marie Joy Ragland

Marie Joy Ragland, 84, of Rochester, MN and long time snowbird of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. 
Marie was born to John and Evelyn Hisey on March 17, 1940, in Chatfield, MN. She attended school in Chatfield, MN. She later moved to Rochester, MN and made her living at Libby’s and at the bakery at Cub Foods.

Marie leaves as her legacy six children: Ken (Cynde) Williams, Bonnie (Mike) Weatherly, Barb (Dave) Stewart, Russ (Dee) Williams, Dan (Vickie) Williams, and Dustin (Amy) Ragland; and two step children: Michael Ragland and Charles Kinney. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters (Millie, Marilyn, and Mavis), as well as several loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, dear friend Doug, step-daughter Barb, and siblings Mildred, Marjorie, and Melvin.

Marie lived her best life the way she knew how. Her family remembers her as a loving and caring individual. Marie cherished sewing, quilting, crafts, fishing, garage sales, and the lutheran church.

A funeral service will be held at Hoff Funeral Home (formerly Riley Funeral Home) in Chatfield, MN on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11am. Per Marie’s request, there will not be a luncheon following the funeral service.
