Marie E. Bakken

Marie Elizabeth (Stone) Bakken, of St. Anthony, Minn. and previously of Rushford, Minn. died on Sunday, March 9, 2008, at the St. Anthony Healthcare Center in St. Anthony, Minn. Marie was born on July 18, 1922 at Summit Township, Wisconsin, to Wallace and Addie Freelove Stone. On August 28, 1948, Marie was united in marriage with Amos Bakken in Decorah, Iowa. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Amos Bakken, of St.Anthony; daughter Pamela (Daniel) Weisdorf of Minneapolis, son Lynn (Jennifer) Bakken of Ramsey and daughter Arlene (Bill) Holman of St.Louis, MO; grandchildren Shawn (Becky) Rentmeester, Stacy (Darin) Magnuson, Gena Alban, Darrin (Tracy) Dahl, Deadra Dahl (John Rodman), Erica (Chris) Warlick, Michael Weisdorf, Samuel Weisdorf, Elasondra Bakken, Connor Bakken and Matthew Holman; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Walter Stone, sisters Edith Simonis, Charlotte Boomer and Lucille Stocks, and son, Dean Rentmeester.The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. A private family burial will take place on a later date at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.The family prefers memorials to be directed to Rushford Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
