HOFF FUNERAL HOMES - RUSHFORD CHAPEL 507-864-7771RUSHFORD, MINN. - Marian Delaine Himlie, 75, of Rushford died on Tuesday, November 10, surrounded by her girls at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford following a 10-year courageous battle with cancer. Marian was born on September 17, 1934, in Hart, Minn. to Martin and Etta (Warnken) Luedtke. She was raised in the Hart area where she attended country school. Marian graduated from Rushford High School in 1952. On July 19, 1952, she married Roger Himlie. Marian lived her entire life in the Rushford area. Marian loved children, especially her precious granddaughter, Ashley. She worked for many years at Wee World Child Care Center in Rushford. She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, where she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and was an active member of the Ladies Aid and choir. Marian received an award from River Trails Girl Scout Council for over 20 years of outstanding service to Girl Scouting. She was active in the community with several volunteer organizations. Marian loved music, dancing, being outdoors, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and meeting new people. She never met a stranger, and always had a smile for everyone. Marian was a devoted, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family and faith were the center of her life. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by three daughters: Sheryl Himlie of Winona, Minn., Patty Himlie of Longmont, Colo., and Kristi Klinger of LaCrosse, Wis.; one very special granddaughter, Ashley Klinger; one brother, Martin (Mary) Luedtke of Milwaukee, Wis.; and three sisters: Gladys Bearse of West Yarmouth, Mass., Edna Iverson of St. Paul, Minn., and Loretta (Clarence) St. Peter of Winona, Minn. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband on July 17, 1992, two sisters, Ruth Patterson and Violet O'Donnell, and two brothers, Orville and Robert Luedtke. The funeral service for Marian will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. with the Rev. Harold Hintzman officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Hart. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
