R. Marian (Neal) BurfeindStockton, Marian Burfeind, 80, of Stockton went to her heavenly home on Saturday evening July 24th at Lake Winona Manor. Marian was born August 16, 1923 in Bristol, PA to Clarence and Lillian (Bell) Neal. She graduated from Fallsington, PA High School in 1941. She and Alvin Burfeind were married on April 6, 1946 at Prospect Presbyterian Church in Trenton, NJ. The couple made their home in Stockton. For 25 years Marian worked at Winona County Department of Social Services. Marian was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Stockton, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Hiawatha Civil War Round Table, Mid-Continent Rail Road Museum and the Winona County Historical Society. From 1976 to 2003 Marian and Alvin traveled on 35 bus trips to all parts of the US and to Canada. Survivors include her husband Alvin, three children Mark Burfeind of Gahanna, OH, Jean Meier of Lewiston and Clare (Patricia) Burfeind of Lewiston, four grandchildren; Heather Howell, Jason Meier, Michael and Matthew Burfeind, five great-grandchildren; Chelsea, Jennifer, Brandon and Austin Howell and Madyson Meier, and a foster sister Jeanne Klock of Elizabethton, TN. Marion was preceded in death by her foster parents Chester and Isabel Waite, foster sister Louise Force, foster brother Chester "Bud" Waite and a grandchild. Funeral Services will be 2PM Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Stockton with the Rev. Christopher Seifferlein officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Stockton. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
