Margy Hargrove

April 3, 1949 — January 29, 2025

Houston

Margy Hargrove, of Houston, MN, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on April 3, 1949, in Johnstown, PA, to William G. and Doris (Wood) Webbles. Margy was a beloved sister to her brother Bill Webbles.

Marge attended Houston Public Schools and graduated from Winona State College where she found the love of her life, Arden Hargrove. They were engaged after 3 short months and were married for 50 years.

Marge’s life was dedicated to nurturing and supporting others. She spent her early years working with children with intellectual disabilities at Gundersen Healthcare and La Crescent School District. Later, she took an adventurous turn by driving her own logging truck, “Me-Too Me-Too” with Arden, where a lighthearted promise that she would never have to back up, became a cherished inside joke. Marge later went on to serve as a para-professional at Houston Public Schools for many years.

Marge relied heavily on her faith and was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. She started playing the organ for her church at age 12 and taught Sunday School for most of her adult life. One of her favorite traditions was reading the Christmas Story from the Bible to her family before opening presents on Christmas day.

Margy was a woman with many joys in life, including reading books (the weirder the better), walking, feeding her birds, and river time at the boathouse. She also loved to travel with Arden and even lived in Australia for a short time after they were married. Her greatest love, however, was her family. She devoted her life to her children and her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren. Much to Arden’s dismay, she could never say “no” to her grandkids. From the “Bush People Site” at their house, to pudding surfing on the kitchen table, sunbathing on the roof and zucchini boat races down the creek, their home was always ready for love, laughter and adventure. Memories of their Campbell Valley cottage will be cherished by her family for years to come.

Margy was preceded in death by her husband, Arden; parents, Doris and William; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Harris and Averle Meyer.

She is survived by her children, Seth (Renae) Hargrove and Melissa (Joffre) Pedretti; grandchildren, Ethan Hargrove, Dawson Pedretti, Izack Hargrove, and Lydia Pedretti; brother, Bill (Colleen) Webbles; Arden’s aunt, Marjory Mickschl, brothers-in-law, Alvern (Nancy) Hargrove and Demsey Harris; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
