Utica, Margie May Mundt, 83, of Utica died Friday, January 22, 2010 at her home in Utica. Margie was born May 14, 1926 in rural St. Charles to William and Lillian (Kurth) Putzier. She graduated from St. Charles High School. Margie and Harold G. Mundt were married on April 12, 1946 in St. Charles. The couple farmed in the Utica area their entire married lives. Her life was her family. She was a fulltime homemaker enjoying the farm life, cooking, gardening and raising chickens. Margie was a kind and gentle soul and had a great concern for others. Always placing their needs ahead of hers. She was a member of St. Charles Church of Christ and had volunteered for Camp Courage and enjoyed working on genealogy. Survivors include her nine children; Sandy Gatz of Winona, Dick (Norma) Mundt of St. Charles, Karen (Dave) Ledebuhr of Winona, LeRoy (Bonita) Mundt of Eyota, Dorothy Sanders (Mike) of Rochester, Bob (Sue) Mundt of Utica, Sherry Goodenough of Rochester, Gloria (Al) Fortsch of Dover and Harvey (Lynnette) Mundt of St. Charles, 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1989, a daughter Elnora, grandson Evan, three brothers and a sister and two son-in-laws. Funeral Services will be 11AM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles. Evangelists Rick Lanning and Rennie Frazier will officiate. Spring burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8PM Tuesday and 10-11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
