ROLLINGSTONE, MINN. - Margie A. Guenther, 84, of Rollingstone, Minn. died on Monday, March 16, 2009, at her home. Margie was born on August 21, 1924, near Elba, Minn. to Louis and Leona (Majerus) Wegman. She was raised near Dover, Minn. and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1942. Margie then graduated from teachers training also in St. Charles. She taught in a one room country school near Dover for four years. On June 5, 1947, Margie was united in marriage with Bernard Guenther in St. Charles. The couple lived in Rochester for two years and in 1949, they moved to rural Rollingstone, Minn. where they farmed and raised their eight children. Margie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone. She taught religious education for 23 years and was a member of St. Nicholas / St. Theresa Society at Holy Trinity. She was a 4-H Leader for over 25 years, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Margie enjoyed flower gardening. Roses and Amaryllis were her favorites. She also enjoyed sewing and needlework. Margie made a quilt for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margie is survived by her husband, Bernie; eight children: Mary Kay (Gene) Rasmussen of Rochester, Minn., Susan Mesch of Eagan, Minn., Peg (Paul) Kilkus of Winona, Minn., John (Deb) Guenther of Rollingstone, Minn., Tom (Kim) Guenther of Lakeville, Minn., Nancy (Alan) Schollmeier, Ron (Lisa) Guenther, and Kevin (Kristin) Guenther all of Rochester; 22 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-greatgrandchildren; nine brothers and sisters: Bernard (Janet) Wegman, Lorraine Bonine, Leora Delaney, Florence (Gerwin) Smith, Rosemary (Larry) Hemann, Dorothy Wagner, Donald Wegman, Marvin (Exe) Wegman, and Jeannie (Tim) Anderson; and by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, and one granddaughter, Becky Kilkus. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Rev. Donald Lovas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church where there will also be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening and one hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Thursday.
