Margaret Jeanne Rothering (Peggy)Age 80Died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. Born April 29, 1932 to Leslie and Kathleen (Valentine) Daering in Winona. She grew up and attended school in Winona. Peggy married Blaise Rothering on November 20, 1948 and they settled in the Stockton Valley. She worked at the Country Kitchen, the Winona Senior Center and the Winona Hospital as a kitchen supervisor. Known as Peggy to all who knew her, she was first and foremost a mom and grandmother. Peggy felt honored and proud to be Irish. She had a special love for flowers, gardening, canning, hunting morel mushrooms, and watching the gracefulness of her hummingbirds. Each year as the flowers bloom and her beloved hummingbirds return, we will all be reminded of Peg's courage and faith to follow God's plan.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years Blaise; one infant daughter and one son, Timothy B. Rothering. She is survived by one sister, Dianne (Allan) Dombrowski of Suamico, WI; six children, Mary (Leon) Bronk of Winona, Patricia (Fred) Gerdes of Winona, William (Shelley) Rothering of St. Charles, Michael (Leslie) Rothering of Titusville, FL, Scott (Cheryl Golish) Rothering of Winona, Christopher (Tammie) Rothering of Winona; grandchildren, Amy, Robert, Dianne, David, Karrie, Theresa, Fred, Jeff, Allison, Aaron, Christopher, Ryan, Adam, Luke, Hope, Cody, Cassandra, Blaise, Chase and Rihana; great-grandchildren, Carissa, Zach, Nick, Makayla, Drew, Kaylyn, Megan, Josh, Michael, Avery, Austin, Aspen, Cole James, Tayler, Caleb, Cole Thomas, Dylan, Hannah, Carley, Hunter, Ryder, Emma, Izzy, Evelyn, Caden, Kylie, Ashlyn, Blayne, Noah, Brody, Taylor, Layla and three more due in January; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Robert Halbakken, Aaron, Adam, Blaise, Christopher and Cody Rothering and Freddie Gerdes II; honorary pallbearer will be Tom Rothering.Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 11 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minnesota City.
