Lewiston, Margaret Evangeline Berg Nahrgang, 88, of Lewiston passed from this life on February 14, 2007 at Sauer Memorial Home, Winona. She was born in Houston County on February 4, 1919 to Peter and Clara Gaustad Berg. Margaret attended the University of Minnesota Farm School where she met the love of her life, John Nahrgang. They married November 23, 1939 at her home in Sheldon. They spent their entire lives in the Lewiston area raising their family and farming. Margaret and John celebrated their Century Farm in 1992. For many years they raised Guernsey cattle, hogs and crops. During her life Margaret was a charter member of the Dorcas Society at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston and the Homemakers group of rural Lewiston. She worked 20 years at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona as a nurse's aid. Margaret is survived by her children Wally (Barb) Nahrgang of Altura; Steve Nahrgang (Geri Jilk) of Stockton and Joan (Phil) Thesing of Lewiston, grandchildren, Karl Nahrgang, Rick (Deb) Nahrgang, Gunnar Nahrgang, Gretchen Elliott, Garth (Kim) Nahrgang, Ben Nahrgang, Mandy Thesing, Peggy (Jessie) Baumgartner, Becky, Zach and Anna Thesing. Margaret was also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Audrey Nahrgang of Chandler, AZ, Ruby Luehmann of Bootwyn, PA, Irene Nahrgang of Lewiston and Millie Berg of Ellsworth, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband John on August 16, 1995 and brothers Cecil and Arnold. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston with the Reverends David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewiston Public Cemetery. Friends may call fro 1-6 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's, Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
