Margaret Ann (Slavin) Peterson, known to many as "Maggie" passed away Friday, July 28th,after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, at the Methodist Campus in Rochester surrounded by her loving family at the age of 69 years.
Margaret was born August 16, 1947 in Rochester, Minnesota to Ralph and Dorothy (Turner) Slavin. She married Jerry Schellhammer, and later divorced. On February 6, 1991 Margaret married Roger Peterson. They resided in Dover and spent winters in Apache Junction, AZ. Margaret worked at various places in the area, including Whitewater Health Care Center, St. Charles Medical Center, Del's Café, Country Liv-In, Last Round, Pioneer Club, and was a secretary for many years at Peterson Construction.
Maggie loved spending time with her grandbabies, her special friends and family, loved the outdoors, her flowers, gardening, motorcycling, camping, Nascar, the Minnesota Vikings, Country music, and loved many dances with her husband Roger.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Roger, children, Debbie Danckwart, Jeff (Kim) Schellhammer, Kelly Blakstad, stepsons Jeff (Julie) Peterson and Jim Peterson, stepdaughter Tonia (Bruce) Groke; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; siblings John (Sherry) Slavin, Bob (Nora) Slavin, Mary Jo (Dan) Schweitzer, Ron (Jackie) Slavin, Rita (Gene) Nesler, Tom (Deb) Slavin, Dave (Julie) Slavin, Carol (David) Packer, and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dorothy, a stepson, David Peterson, and a grandson, Danny.
There will be a memorial service for Margaret at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2 also at Hoff Funeral Home and Cremation Service in St. Charles.
