Margaret A. Ahern, 89, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN. Margaret was born December 31, 1920, in Sewickley, PA, to Vincent and Mary (Winkler) Czik. She married Lott W. Ahern on March 10, 1944, in St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. Margaret and Lott lived in St. Paul, MN, where she worked as a daycare mother as well as a practical nurse. They moved to Lewiston in 1969 where she worked for Camera Art as a supervisor in the retouching department. In 2006 she moved to St. Charles Assisted Living. Lott preceded her in death on July 29, 2007. Margaret had resided in Watkins Manor and St. Anne's in Winona. Margaret is lovingly remembered for her love of children and caring for them, and her enjoyment of birds and crocheting.Survivors include her four children, Marnie Ahern of Seattle, WA, Michael Ahern of Lewiston, MN, Colleen (Randy) Howes of Irons, MI, and Eileen (Roger) Dahlin of Winona, MN; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Harkness of Pennsylvania, Catherine Ellis of California and Eileen (Harrison) Brewer of Nevada; and brother, Vincent (Alma) Czik of Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Elizabeth.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, August 3rd, at 11:00am, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Reverend Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
