Manuel "Manny" G. Stark, 68, of Hidden Valley, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona, MN, following a battle with cancer. He had been a resident of Sauer Memorial Home for the past month. Manuel was born to Frederick and Ethel (Wise) Stark on September 26, 1940, in LaCrosse, WI. He is survived by four brothers, Robert Stark Sr. of Winona, MN, Lloyd (Lucy) Stark of Lewiston, MN, Frederick (Denise) Stark II of Pickwick, MN, and Merritt (Norma) Stark of Winona, MN; five sisters, Lorraine Bambenek of Minnesota City, MN, Barbara Thomas of Winona, MN, Karen Stark of Minnesota City, MN, Sandra Carty of St. George, UT, and Norma Lee (Carlyle) Olson of Dubuque, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Eugene, and a sister, Lorretta, sister-in-law, Patricia Stark, and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Thomas, Leo Carty and Robert Bambenek.Manny retired from Badger Construction and had also drove semi for Mayflower, and had worked for Fiberite. Manuel was an active volunteer for many years at the Winona Eagles Club for the Eagles Cancer Telethon. He will be sadly missed by many close friends and family.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with the Reverend Mark Dumke officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
